#OccupyWallStreet: If the Tea Party Gets Their Way...

 A great rant from Arnie Zelkowitz in reply to an article on Huffington Post on the #OccupyWallStreet movement:

: “If the Tea Party gets their way, there will be rioting in America that will make the '60s look like a piece of cake. (They will) Break the unions, get rid of minimum wage, privatize education to the tune of $20-30,000 a year for a third grader, get rid of Social Security and Medicare. Turn America into the low wage society that those at the top of the Republican food chain are trying to achieve.

Those who support these Republican­s will be the first to riot when salaries are cut by two thirds and health insurance is taken away. Allow the Wall Street banks and other large multi-nati­onal corporatio­ns to run this country the way they want and you will get what you voted for. One day you and your children will be competing for the same low paying job. Most children in this country will grow up without an education.

Go ahead, support these guys. They are using you time and time again for their own benefit. They send out their minions and even tell you their plans.

Get rid of illegals? Sure, it will give your children somewhere to work for 75 cents an hour. Privatized schools will cost you the entire family income every year. They don't care. They don't need the American market anymore. We are a drop in the bucket for them when they sell to the whole world.

All they want is for the U.S. to be a low wage society for their benefit.”

It seems pretty obvious to me, but we still have millions out there who think that the "rich job creators" are on their side.  Good rant, Arnie.. Good luck to you!

"Time to back away from the table entirely.. No Use Dealing with these people.. You can't give them everything they want - they won't allow it.

Just say – “We tried.. We practicall­y gave them everything they asked for besides Your Social Security or Medicare..­. We even stopped requesting for the expiration on tax cuts for rich people, stopped asking to close Corporate Tax Loopholes.­.. and it's not enough..

We are going to let the Congress do their job and avert an economic catastroph­e as they have been charged to do under the constituti­on by passing a clean Debt Ceiling Bill.

We will not sign anything else – there is no more time for these games and economic brinkmansh­ip..We cannot allow the Few to Dictate Policy in a Democracy.­. We cannot have the USA Taken Hostage by those with no grasp of the implicatio­ns of their actions outside of Idealism.

We’ll enact meaningful defect reduction – including letting the Bush Tax Cuts for the Rich Expire – AFTER the Congress has passed a clean bill for signature.­.. We will allow the Bush Tax Cuts for the Wealthy expire.. We CANNOT Deal with these Insane Right Wing Types, who have taken over the Congress..­. This is Our Democracy - Our COUNTRY... Not Play-dough for a few Zealots to Shape in Their Image...Enough Already. Walk away from the table...”

As much as I don't want to see a default, we, the people of the United States of America, are being held hostage by these rabid dog Teaparty followers, doing the dirty work of their very rich masters and thinking they are being "Patriotic".

Paid Trolls?

Yes, Virginia, there are paid trolls. There are people who are paid to populate the "blogosphere" with negative, nasty right-wing posts.

I'm not going to provide the link, but you can Google if you wish and find them. There's a company out there called "Advantage" something or other. They make money hiring trolls. Their website says:

"Get ahead of your opponent with Profession­al Blog Warriors. Be prepared to "flood the zone" with comments from profession­als who are ready to put your talking points on the blogospher­e 24./7."

There is absolutely no way to ferret these people out by using their IP addresses as they are working from their own homes. But you can usually tell if you look through the history of their posts. They post a lot, and often they seem to "log in" and "log out" on the hour or half hour.

If someone calls them out, they will just rejoin with a different name.

Nobody would take such a job unless they were of bagger-thi­nker ilk anyway.

And, if someone is as heartless as many right-wingers who post at Huffington, Newsvine, and other blogs, I'm very glad that they aren't "wasting taxpayer money" collecting unemployme­nt insurance. However, I do hope they are paid as independen­t contractor­s so, when they are dumped, they don't get a dime in umemployme­nt benefits.
